Clyde Godwin
Pastor, Gospel Coach
I was born in North Carolina but I grew up in different cities around the Southeast. I moved 7 times in my 18 years with my parents. I met Jesus in 1970. From the beginning of my relationship with him, I felt called to love people the way he loved me. I met Valerie at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We were married in 1975. We moved to Philadelphia where I would attend Westminster Theological Seminary. I have over 40 years of ministry experience, including college campuses, church planting, renewal and revitalization of churches, an Executive Director of a Missions organization, starting a counseling center, and active volunteer in men’s ministries. My passion is to help men and women to know Jesus better. I want them to be fully alive to His grace and mercy in their everyday lives in extraordinary ways. I am passionate to see people actively involved in Jesus’ Kingdom and Church. I believe caring for people should be invitational, relational, intentional and transformational.
We have three grown children who are married and live in Philadelphia, PA, Raleigh, NC and Washington, DC. We have 6 grandchildren. We enjoy being with our children and grandchildren. I enjoy hiking with Valerie, playing golf, being at the beach, good movies, and books. I enjoy being engaged with good friends in living life together around the bonfire of the Gospel. I want to be fully alive with others to the sufficiency and the power of Jesus’ redemptive sacrifice and his never-ending grace and mercy.
